Brick slips lining for a fireplace opening to accommodate a log burning stove. Part of a much larger job the existing brick lining of the fireplace was rendered to provide a flat surface for the brick slips, and then clad in the brick slips. Brick slips are basically the face of a real brick sliced off about 25mm thick that can then be used like tiles to fake the effect of a real brick wall. All the brickwork is then pointed with mortar as if it were a real brick wall.
